A brief story on how it all started. Our founder Steve had been making charcuterie as a hobby for a while. He is a total foodie and will give anything a try, so he just kept experimenting and eventually dished some out to family and friends to taste and they all loved it and that’s when this all began….

When Steve decided to build the unit down at Phipps Brewery in Northampton he knew he wanted to include a purpose built meat production and curing room in the plans, so he could turn his hobby into a business venture. Steve invested in three state of the art fridges designed for the meat curing process and made sure he had all the equipment he needed to make the charcuterie on a larger scale. Whilst in the process of building and planning Steve discovered that about 100 years ago the building (pictured on the front of the packaging) was used for the same thing plus making jams, pickles and much much more. How cool is that!!

Steve is very particular about where the ingredients come from and will only use the best free range local pork. So you’re getting the best meat around and helping other local businesses too when you purchase our products

Since opening the unit back in the summer of 2021 the demand for the charcuterie has rocketed and people cannot get enough of our British charcuterie. This is something we are super proud of and cannot wait to extend our range!

Also if you didn’t know Steve is the founder of Friars Farm and the Northampton Cheese Co. Friars farm specialises in preserves, chutneys etc and Northampton cheese co. is exactly what is says on the tin! Friars farm was the first business Steve set up back in  2013 and it was kicked off his passion for his small business and supporting local people.

A LITTLE INFO ABOUT OUR CHARCUTERIE 

All of our products are made using locally Northamptonshire soured free range pork, so we can guarantee you are getting the best of the best! That’s not the only thing making our charcuterie unique, all of our recipes have been created and perfected in our purpose built unit in Northampton. Each product is hand cut from the finest pork, cured in our state of the art fridges and then packaged by our team.
